Ten Thousand Villages

This amazingly colorful basket features spirals of blue and natural colored raffia. Artisans in Uganda made this basket using banana fiber, which is then wrapped with raffia palm. Raffia fibers are often used in textiles, ropes, garden strings, baskets, construction, and roofing.
